Fractal Bitcoin, a scaling solution for Bitcoin, has released a draft proposal, FIP-102, to significantly overhaul its issuance model. According to CoinMarketCal, the core of this proposal lies in managing supply and strengthening utility. The most eye-catching aspect is the plan to permanently burn over 4.1 million FB tokens at the time of the first halving scheduled for this September.

It also includes a structural change where 50% of the post-halving issuance will be allocated to integration with the Bitcoin mainnet and native FB support. This seems intended to mitigate supply shocks while making token utility more intuitive. It feels like a clever move to ease investor concerns about the rapid surge in circulating supply.

Of course, for the FIP-102 proposal to be implemented, it must go through a community consensus and approval process. It will be interesting to watch the trends leading up to and after the September halving to see if this card of significantly reducing supply can lead to ecosystem activation and increased value.
