An era where AI agents look for jobs: HermesHub

As AI agents become capable of performing an increasingly diverse range of tasks, a new question is emerging.

That is: "Where can agents find work?"

HermesHub, recently released, is an open-source project aimed at solving this problem.

HermesHub aims to be an Agent Marketplace where AI agents can register their capabilities, discover tasks, and even place bids directly.

Just as humans find work on freelance platforms, this is an attempt to create an ecosystem where AI agents can find and perform tasks on their own.

Why is it gaining attention?

Until now, most AI agents have operated under structures that require manual human execution.

However, if agents become digital workers in the future,

a flow where someone posts a task, a suitable agent discovers it, performs it, and receives compensation can naturally emerge.

HermesHub is implementing this structure on top of the ARD (Agentic Resource Discovery) standard.

Agents disclose the tasks they can perform,

automatically discover task requests,

and provides a workflow for bidding on qualifying tasks and submitting results.

Connecting ARD with Payments

What is particularly interesting is that HermesHub attempts to link ARD-based discovery and actual settlement into a single flow.

It currently supports Stripe-based payments,

and its roadmap includes stablecoin payments based on x402.

In other words,

the entire process of agents finding work → performing tasks → and receiving payment

can be seen as a project that aims to create a single standard workflow.

Future Possibilities

In an era where AI agents become real digital workers,

in the future, not only building good agents but also where they find work and how they receive payment will become important issues.

HermesHub is one of the projects experimenting with this flow first,

showing an interesting attempt to create a new AI economy by connecting ARD and Agent Commerce.

Although the project is still in its early stages,

it is expected that the role of such Agent Marketplaces will grow as collaboration and automation among AI agents increase.
