Is the pace of AI advancement too fast right now?
I was revisiting some AI 2027 materials I had saved a while back, and it really got me thinking.
This material, published in 2025, explores a scenario where AI begins to conduct its own research, leading to a sudden, exponential acceleration in technological progress.

What was particularly interesting was how the scenarios were divided: one where AI development is deliberately slowed down, and another where it continues to accelerate due to competition.
I recently watched a KBS video about the need to slow down AI development, and it feels like this debate has moved beyond just technical issues.

Personally, I use AI often, so I do welcome the progress. It’s fascinating to see things become possible that weren't even an option a few months ago. I honestly can’t imagine working without AI anymore.
But at the same time, when even the creators of AI find it hard to predict exactly what will happen next, I wonder if this rapid development is really the right path.
Then again, if we slow down, other countries or companies will just continue to develop it, so I’m skeptical about whether speed control is even possible.
Do you think there’s a need to intentionally slow down the current pace of AI development? Or do you believe we should keep pushing forward despite the risks?
I’m curious to hear your reasons either way.
