The Ethereum community is heading to Mumbai next month. Devcon 8 is taking place from November 3–6 at the Jio World Centre in India. While it sounds like a developer-focused event, the topics being discussed are much broader than that.
Devcon is an event where Ethereum developers, researchers, and various community members gather to discuss technology and future directions. This year, they will cover everything from technical upgrades to security, privacy, AI agents, and community building. It might sound a bit intimidating at first, but if you look at it through the lens of questions like, "What more should a wallet tell you before you sign?" or "How do I protect my data on a public blockchain?", it becomes quite relatable.
The event spans four days and includes presentations, panel discussions, and workshops across multiple stages, alongside community-led spaces. It’s less of a formal conference and more of a space for people to bring what they’re building and the challenges they’re facing to share with others. Please note that the detailed schedule is still being finalized and is subject to change.
It’s not easy to just hop over to Mumbai, haha, but I’m curious to see not just what new technologies will be revealed, but how they plan to solve the things users have found inconvenient. It’ll be interesting to see how closely these tech topics translate to our daily lives, from wallets to personal privacy.
