Three Things to Watch at Breakpoint 2026
The annual Solana conference, Breakpoint 2026, is set to take place in London at Olympia from November 15–17. This year's theme, 'Token Supercycle,' focuses on the shift of payments and AI economic activity—including stablecoins and tokenized assets—onto the chain.
Public speakers include representatives from Zelle, Mastercard, and the DTCC. In an announcement on the 27th, organizers stated that additional speakers and the full schedule would be released later. Based on the announcements so far, I've summarized three key points to keep an eye on.
Where payments are accepted and by whom
It’s worth checking whether these are retail purchases, cross-border remittances, or B2B settlements. You'll also want to look at supported countries and target users to understand the scope of actual usability.
What rights tokenized assets grant their holders
Beyond just knowing what assets are being tokenized, it's important to look at what the holders are actually owning. If redemption is possible, you should also check the specific conditions.
What tasks AI performs and who controls payment authorization
I’m interested in seeing who pays for data or tool purchases. It's also worth noting how spending limits and approval procedures are set up.
Across all three areas, it's important to check whether the services are currently available for use or if they are in a trial phase limited to a select group. Even for the same 'adoption' announcement, the scope of actual usage can vary significantly.
