XRP: Market flow check amidst swing low breakdown and downtrend structure
XRP has closed below not only the low of the last 20 candles but also its previous swing low. This isn't just a brief intraday dip; it is a decisive break below established support, making the downtrend structure—characterized by lower highs and lower lows—even more apparent. Its relative performance against BTC remains weak, and the downward momentum remains strong. While some indicators suggest a slight deceleration in the descent, the failure to hold key price levels on a closing basis means the market's center of gravity is still tilted to the downside.
Verified indicators and market environment
It is now confirmed that XRP has closed below its previous swing low and the 20-candle low, cementing its downtrend. While 4-hour trend strength indicators point to a clear downward path, 1-hour trading volume is below the average. This suggests that the lower lows are driven more by thinning buy-side support than by explosive selling pressure. Although the falling velocity is easing as the negative momentum narrows, there is a lack of external support for a rebound, as very few assets are trading above their short-term baselines and XRP continues to underperform BTC.

A daily close above 1.3444 could lead to a further rebound attempt. Conversely, closing below 1.2546 and 1.2002 sequentially could intensify downward pressure.
Momentum deceleration and remaining challenges
With the recent candle closes confirming the breach of both the previous swing low and the 20-candle low, the downtrend continues clearly. At the same time, we observe the MACD histogram's negative width narrowing, indicating that the intense downward acceleration is easing. However, this deceleration in technical indicators is merely an early warning sign of cooling momentum, not a definitive basis for a trend reversal. For a true change in direction, a structural breakout that pushes beyond the existing trading range must be confirmed.
The need for calm observation
The downtrend persists as the price remains below the confirmed swing low. With significant long liquidations in the futures market and dampened overall sentiment, it is too early to interpret the slowing rate of decline as a trend reversal. Now is the time to step back and observe calmly how the price tests support levels and how buying interest accumulates, rather than prematurely betting on a rebound.
