Major U.S. financial firm Charles Schwab is reportedly adding Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink to its crypto platform. According to The Block and Dow Jones Newswires, the service—which previously supported only Bitcoin and Ethereum—has significantly expanded its list of supported assets in response to strong customer demand. It is quite significant that a traditional finance giant is now looking beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum and turning its attention toward the altcoin ecosystem in earnest.

For institutional and retail investors who were previously hesitant due to DeFi security incidents or complex on-chain risks, accessing these assets through an established institutional platform will likely be a very attractive option. Chainlink, in particular, has seen a series of positive developments, such as being adopted as the exclusive cross-chain infrastructure for cbBTC on the Robinhood chain. It will be interesting to watch how this influx of institutional capital into major altcoins unfolds moving forward.
