Humanity Protocol recently suffered a theft of approximately $36 million in assets, causing the price of its on-chain token (H) to crash by over 90%. While initial damage was estimated at $5 million, the attacker rapidly converted the stolen tokens into ETH and sold them, draining the ecosystem's liquidity and causing the scale of the damage to balloon.

While the market focuses on complex security threats like sophisticated AI-driven smart contract exploits, the actual cause of this incident turned out to be quite mundane: a private key leak resulting from the hacking of an employee's personal laptop.
