XRP Stuck in Consolidation Despite Volume Surge — Will It Break $1.00–$1.18?

Although XRP's trading volume has recently increased by over 20%, its price remains trapped in a consolidation phase between $1.00 and $1.18, leading to a stagnant trend. The price is failing to move despite the uptick in activity. While this symmetrical triangle pattern is usually interpreted as a period of building momentum, it is currently difficult to predict which direction it will take.

The core driver behind this volume surge is largely due to short-term events like the $800,000 RLUSD airdrop on Binance. Conversely, strong buying pressure is being held back by the delay in the U.S. Senate vote on the Clarity Act—a key catalyst needed to push the price higher. We are essentially seeing a standoff between temporary volume spikes from the airdrop and the limiting factor of regulatory uncertainty.

Some view the increase in volume toward the end of a consolidation phase as a sign of an impending breakout, but we must also consider the possibility of a downturn once the event-driven volume fades. For this trend to change, we need to see a decisive break above the $1.18 resistance or below the $1.00 support, accompanied by significant volume. For now, rather than jumping in aggressively, it seems prudent to wait and see if the volume holds steady at the end of this consolidation range.
