While Bitcoin has recently been trapped in a lackluster sideways range, interesting movements have been detected in Ethereum and Ripple. As BTC consolidates within a narrow band and its trend strength has significantly weakened, ETH and XRP have seen a noticeable spike in daily trading volume compared to recent levels. In the absence of major macro catalysts driving the broader market, this is interpreted as a classic short-term sector rotation pattern where trading interest is concentrated in specific assets.
Currently, buying interest is slowly picking up for ETH near its range midpoint, while XRP, which had faced strong downward pressure, is showing signs that the selling pressure is gradually exhausting. Essentially, independent capital movement is occurring within major altcoins while the market leader consolidates. However, it is still too early to interpret this as a full-scale altcoin rally or decoupling. If Bitcoin breaks out of its current sideways channel and begins to form a strong trend, the independent movements of these altcoins could quickly fade. For now, it is best to monitor whether ETH can break through key resistance levels and whether XRP stops its decline to solidify a bottom, all while keeping a close watch on Bitcoin's direction.
