Comic artist Huh Young-man, who brought warmth and smiles to viewers while introducing hidden local restaurants across the country, has shared some welcome news after two months. On August 26, through his official social media, it was announced that he is slowly recovering his health in the hospital, bringing a sigh of relief to the many who had been worried. This is his first official update since news of his sudden injury broke last June.
It was revealed that the 79-year-old artist suffered a major crisis in mid-June after a fall, which led to his transfer to the intensive care unit. As a result of this sudden injury, 'Sikgaek Huh Young-man's Baekban Travel' Season 1, TV Chosun's flagship program that had been beloved by viewers for seven years, had to come to an abrupt end on June 21. At the time, the specific reason for the show's conclusion was not clearly disclosed, causing concern among viewers; it was later learned that the reason was his prolonged hospitalization, adding to the sense of regret.
Fortunately, in the recently released video, Huh showed a woodblock print from his 'Cartoon Diary,' which was meticulously crafted from his hospital bed, demonstrating a positive attitude toward his recovery. Although he is still undergoing treatment, fans are sending warm encouragement to the master, who hasn't lost his passion for creativity or his zest for life despite his advanced age. We hope he regains his health soon and returns to us with his friendly smile.
