Use names instead of complex wallet addresses: up.id
When sending coins, you often double-check if you copied the long wallet address starting with 0x correctly.
Upbit Web3 Names is a service that assigns easy-to-remember names like username.up.id to these addresses, allowing you to find wallets and send funds using a name.
These names aren't issued to just any wallet. According to the GIWA documentation, they are provided for free to a Verified Address that has completed identity verification, with each wallet limited to one name. Once registered, the name cannot be changed or transferred to another person. (Choose wisely the first time!)
up.id is built on the Ethereum Name Service, ENS. It can be used not only in GIWA but also on Ethereum, and is compatible with tools that support ENS. However, when actually sending funds, you should always check if the wallet or service you are using supports the specific name.
If a Verified Address becomes invalid, such as when your identity verification expires, the connection between the name and the wallet is disconnected. It is said that the original name can be recovered if the verification becomes valid again within 30 days.
While it's convenient to use a familiar name instead of a long address, you should still verify the recipient and the network before sending funds. Similar names do not guarantee that they belong to the same wallet.
