The Stellar wallet Freighter has been rebranded as Varial. It's the same wallet returning with a new name and a refreshed interface.

The wallet's Discover tab allows you to find and connect to apps within the Stellar ecosystem. It also includes features to view token price charts and manage Stellar NFTs.

The services listed in the app directory are third-party services, not operated directly by the Stellar Development Foundation. Before connecting, please make sure to verify what the app is and what permissions you are granting from your wallet.

There are plans to add an Earn feature for managing DeFi positions and a cross-network bridging feature in the future.

What if you could pay for concert tickets with your wallet? Here is the method Bermuda is preparing.

Bermuda's ticket sales platform, PTIX, is preparing a feature to pay for tickets using digital assets. This plan was announced by WalletConnect and local partner Penrose on October 29.

The mechanism involves the buyer paying from their wallet, which then sends the funds directly to the event organizer's wallet instead of the ticket platform holding the money. This structure seems feasible when the ticket sales platform and the event organizer receiving the funds are separate entities.

This feature is not yet available for immediate use on PTIX. The service is currently scheduled to launch in Q2 2027. We will need to keep an eye out for further launch announcements regarding actual supported wallets, assets, and refund policies.

Sony is recruiting for an on-chain entertainment project.

Sony Group has launched an incubation program for startups and creators building entertainment services using Soneium. They are looking for ideas that connect content with people, such as music, games, or fan communities.

Applications are open to teams with existing services as well as those at the idea stage. You must be building on Soneium or have a concrete plan for future integration.

Selected projects will receive support in business development, marketing, and ecosystem collaboration. While investment review is possible, selection does not guarantee funding!

There's a case of cars exported from Japan being paid for with stablecoins.

Japanese car exporter SAT Japan has partnered with payment provider Triple-A to add stablecoin payments for overseas vehicle purchases. This was announced on October 29.

Overseas buyers who meet the requirements can pay for their vehicles in USDT or USDC, with Triple-A handling payment processing, currency exchange, and settlement. The seller does not hold the stablecoins directly and receives the settlement in USD.

This means there's now an alternative to traditional bank transfers when buying cars from abroad. However, it doesn't apply to all orders, and availability depends on the purchase conditions and region.

The Stellar network is now natively supported on MetaMask.

MetaMask mobile and browser extension now support Stellar as a native network. This was announced by the Stellar Development Foundation on October 29th.

You can now view your Stellar address in multi-chain accounts without needing to manually add the network. It allows you to store, send, and receive XLM and supported Stellar assets.

Keep in mind that just because an address is visible, it doesn't mean you can receive all tokens immediately. According to MetaMask, you need to receive at least 1 XLM to activate the new Stellar address, and for tokens other than XLM, you will need to set up a trustline to receive those assets.

What if you could pre-fund international remittances using stablecoins?

Visa Direct has moved its feature that uses stablecoins for international money transfers from a pilot program to an actual service. This news was announced by Visa on October 15.

Through its first partner, Inyo Global, eligible companies can now pre-fund their international payments using USDC. Stablecoins are being used during the liquidity preparation phase for companies like remittance providers or fintech firms.

The key point here is that this doesn't mean a new remittance app for everyday users to send crypto directly has launched! This feature is applied to corporate fund transfers, and availability depends on the region and eligibility.

Samsung Wallet has announced a USDC transfer feature that doesn't require the recipient to have a crypto wallet. It's said that transfers sent to supported bank accounts in over 60 countries can be received in the local currency.

In an October 7 announcement, Samsung stated that it would introduce the feature in the final week of October for Galaxy users in the U.S. who meet the eligibility requirements. (This announcement is specifically for U.S. users!)

The cost varies depending on the transfer method. Samsung does not charge a remittance fee when sending USDC to supported external wallets, but the receiving wallet provider or exchange may charge their own fees. If sending to a bank account, fees will be applied based on the destination and the amount.

For bank transfers, the app will display the fee and estimated arrival time before final confirmation. You are advised to check the list of supported countries within the app as well. Note that some banks or account types may not be supported, so it is a good idea to verify the recipient's account details.

Why does GIWA need Dojang and Bojagi?

Sometimes you need to prove your qualifications to use a service, but you don't want to disclose all your personal information. GIWA introduces Dojang and Bojagi, which address these information disclosure issues in authentication and transactions, respectively.

Dojang is a service that verifies necessary credentials or status. It links information confirmed by trusted institutions to a wallet address, making it verifiable on-chain. This approach allows you to utilize verification results without directly revealing personal identifiers like your name.

Bojagi focuses on protecting transaction information. It is designed to verify the validity of transactions without exposing sensitive data on-chain by leveraging zero-knowledge proofs. Zero-knowledge proof is a technology that verifies specific facts without revealing the underlying details.

If you had "October 26 Ethereum upgrade" marked on your calendar, the schedule has changed.

The Ethereum Foundation postponed the application of Glamsterdam to the Holesky testnet on the 22nd. The original schedule was the 26th UTC, which would have been early morning on the 27th KST. The official announcement checked on the 26th does not have a new date yet. It also isn't an announcement that fixed the mainnet deployment date.

The reason for the delay is to further examine a proposal called EIP-8037. This proposal changes the gas cost and calculation method when adding new data to the blockchain, and they are conducting additional research on how it affects existing smart contracts. They are checking not only how the new rules work but also how existing code behaves under them.

So, what should you do if you normally use Ethereum apps or hold ETH? The Foundation stated that there is nothing for mainnet users or ETH holders to do as a result of this announcement. You don't need to change anything in your wallet just because the date has moved.

You know when you don't think you have many subscriptions, but wonder how much it all adds up to?

ether.fi released AI Connections on the 15th, and it's a feature that helps organize exactly that. If you connect your transaction history to ChatGPT or Claude, it summarizes your monthly subscription fees and shows you how much you're spending per year.

I was worried about having to show my account balance or total assets just to use this, but apparently, you only need to grant access to transaction history for subscription fee analysis. Permissions are disabled by default, and you can choose whether or not to share your balance or asset holdings. It's read-only, so the AI can't send or borrow money.

That said, disconnecting doesn't automatically delete the data you've already sent to the AI. That's why the ability to selectively choose which information to connect stands out—you shouldn't have to show your full asset list just to track your subscriptions.
