Hyperliquid is set to support permissionless deployment on mainnet via the HIP-4 upgrade, allowing anyone to create prediction markets. This upgrade serves as a signal that they are expanding from a restrictive model into an on-chain prediction market ecosystem open to everyone.

The most interesting part is the requirement to stake a massive '500,000 HYPE' to open a prediction market. By requiring such a substantial commitment of assets, the intent to prevent spam markets is clear. Furthermore, if a market is managed improperly or causes issues, the staked funds could be slashed. This verification process will be managed through validator votes on standard templates.

As prediction markets have recently emerged as a key trend in the crypto scene, Hyperliquid's strategy to strongly tie in the utility of the HYPE token seems very clever. It's a move to go beyond being just an exchange and evolve into a true DeFi platform, so I'm looking forward to it!
