BTC Breaks Above Upper Band — Will DOJ Variables Hold It Back?

Bitcoin has broken above the upper Bollinger Band on the daily chart, signaling the release of long-accumulated volatility to the upside. This is a classic squeeze breakout, suggesting the end of a tedious period of consolidation and the start of a new trend. While anticipation surrounding the CLARITY Act provides a floor for prices, technical indicators are showing increasing short-term momentum.

However, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) movement to tighten cryptocurrency enforcement regulations for officials has emerged as a new variable, adding a sense of caution to the market. As regulatory pressure cools the momentum driven by legislative optimism, we cannot rule out the possibility that this breakout is a 'fake-out' that absorbs short-term liquidity before failing.

The most crucial factor for future price action is whether the daily close stays firmly above the upper band. If the rally fails to sustain and the price quickly retraces toward the mid-range of $63,500, this breakout attempt will be nullified. Rather than rushing into a chase, it is more rational to confirm whether the upper band holds as support and whether the move is accompanied by solid volume.
