The Ethereum Foundation has decided to tentatively postpone the Hoodi hard fork to resolve potential compatibility issues discovered during the implementation of EIP-8037 and EIP-8038. Following an All Core Developers (ACD) call, the foundation decided to halt the fork until these issues are clearly resolved. They have released a list of eight technical conditions that may change during the upgrade process and are requesting that smart contract developers and auditors check their projects for potential impact. While this announcement confirms the schedule delay and the need for review, specific remedies and the revised target date for the fork have not yet been determined, so it is necessary to watch the code review process across the ecosystem closely.
In this announcement, the Ethereum Foundation has released a separate repository outlining eight invariants that may be affected during the Glamsterdam upgrade. The intention is for developers and security auditors within the ecosystem to personally verify whether existing smart contracts or dApps rely on the conditions being changed. Since the Hoodi hard fork has been paused to preemptively filter out compatibility issues, the specific timeline for the next fork and the direction of code revisions will likely become clear only after the community's review results are collected.

Was reading about the European central banks pushing for tighter rules on stablecoin rewards.
MiCA already restricts issuers and exchanges from paying interest on stablecoins. Now they want to cover indirect returns through things like lending and staking as well.
I get why regulators are concerned. If people start treating stablecoins like savings accounts, that's a different kind of risk.

Pump.fun has officially launched its PreStocks pairing feature, enabling users to create and trade coins linked to pre-IPO companies like OpenAI and Anthropic directly on the platform, according to CoinMarketCal.
This move highlights an interesting shift where retail platforms are extending beyond typical memecoins to tap into hype around high-profile AI firms and traditional equities. While trading synthetic pre-IPO exposure creates new engagement and volume, it will be important to monitor how these pairs manage pricing accuracy, liquidity depth, and regulatory scrutiny over time.

Traditional U.S. banks have taken direct action to keep major crypto companies like Coinbase and Circle in check. According to a report by Brave New Coin, bankers in the U.S. have filed a lawsuit against the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. They argue that the national trust charters obtained by Coinbase and Circle are a form of preferential treatment, as they allow these firms to essentially engage in banking operations under much looser regulations than traditional banks.
With regulatory barriers rising globally—evidenced by recent moves like the sanctioning of Garantex in Japan or stricter identity verification for Binance in Brazil—it seems even the traditional financial sector is aggressively tackling crypto’s expansion. This creates quite a tricky, unexpected variable for leading crypto players who have been trying to settle into the institutional mainstream by complying with regulations.
It might look like traditional banks just protecting their turf, but depending on whose side the judiciary takes, the difficulty for crypto companies to obtain licenses in the future could change drastically. Ultimately, we will have to keep a close eye on this legal battle to see if it deepens the polarization between the select few institutional-grade assets that clear the regulatory hurdle and those that don't. haha
